AP Massage is a Sports, Remedial and Relaxation Massage Clinic based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
We offer a full range of massage treatments, ranging from simple stress relief massage to the treatment of high-level athletes.
At AP massage, we believe that treatment is about more than simply giving a good massage. We feel that it is important that you understand what is happening in your body and how you can help keep yourself in optimum condition. By combining high quality aftercare with effective treatment programmes, we help you keep yourself off the treatment table for longer, saving you money.

Upon graduating from the University of Leeds with a Masters Degree in Theoretical Physics in 2006, I decided that I would like to pursue a more hands on career than a Physics degree would allow me to do. I had always had a passion for sports and improving athletic performance, so I decided to move into the field of sports injury treatment...
I graduated from the Midland School of Massage in April 2007 with a Diploma in Remedial Massage. Since then I have continued to develop my skills, gaining a diploma in Sports Massage and an Advanced Diploma in Manipulative therapy.
I am now a fully licensed (Mansfield District Council – Massage and Special Treatments License), registered (Midland School of Massage) and insured Massage and Manipulative Therapist, operating from a home clinic situated in Mansfield, England.
My primary area of speciality is in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries. However, I also have experience working with chronic musculoskeletal conditions and give a good, relaxing therapeutic massage.
Qualifications
Primary Massage Qualifications
Diploma in Remedial Massage - Dip. R.M. (MSM)
Remedial Massage involves the use of massage, soft tissue manipulation and exercise advice to reduce physical aches and pains, whether they're caused by sport, injury, or simply the stresses of modern life.
Diploma in Sports Massage - Dip. S.M. (MSM)
The techniques used in Sports Massage are in essence very similar to those used in Remedial Massage. However, the goals of an athlete may differ to those of an individual living a sedentary lifestyle. To this end, Sports Massage is used not only to treat injuries, but also to optimise athletic performance.
It can be used to help prevent injuries occuring, to prepart the body for sporting activity and aid in recovery from workouts.
Advanced Diploma in Manipulative Therapy - Adv. Dip. M.T. (MSM)
Manipulative Therapy involves the use of specific techniques designed to improve mobility in areas that are restricted, such as joints, connective tissues or in skeletal muscles. Such techniques require practitioners of Manipulative Therapy to have an in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, allowing them to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders.

Masters Degree in Theoretical Physics (2:1) - MPhys (Hons)
The ways in which the body moves and functions are governed by the principles of Physics. My background in Physics allows me to understand the physical processes of the body at a higher level than that achieved by conventional massage therapists. This, in conjunction with the analytical thought and problem solving abilities necessary to understand the related physical principles, allows me to formulate more effective treatment programs for my clients.
Indian Head Neck and Shoulder Massage – Professional Development
In addition to my primary massage qualifications, i am also fully qualified in Indian Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage. Due to time constraints, i choose not to offer this as a separate treatment, but instead use many of the techniques involved to provide more effective therapeutic/remedial massage treatments.
